Standards

European Standards in force EN 1176 and EN 1177 specify the security requirements necessary for playground equipment and impact attenuating playground surfacing.

It is, therefore, appropriate, during the playground planning process, to consider at least two essential conditions:

1) Playground equipment must be approved in accordance with the European Standard in force EN 1176 (all our products are certified);

2) The area where the play structures will be installed must be approved in accordance with the European Standard EN 1177. We summarize below the content of the Standard EN 1177.

The European Standard in force EN 1177 sets the test method by which the impact attenuation properties of a surface can be determined. When fall-height exceeds mm 600, for playground equipment with forced movement (carousels and springers), it is essential that the surface of the impact area has specific characteristics for shock absorption.
